The visit of Facebook’s CEO, Mark Zuckerberg , to Nigeria has created so much buzz around the country and even the world. Nigerians have posted so many memes and comments on the social media.

First, Free Basics launched in Nigeria and Mark showed his support for the Jobberman team. Then the Chan-Zuckerberg Initiative invested $24 million in Andela. Also, Facebook’s developer workshop and Facebook is partnering with Cool Link to launch Express Wifi in Lagos.
Mark’s Zuckerberg’s visit to Nigeria, is more than a random visit by a billionaire to a country he is interested in. The visit will have far reaching positive implications for Nigerians, far more than can be seen right now.
Barely 24hrs after his exit from Nigeria to Kenya, Mark Zuckerberg is back to Nigeria. Although he shared a disappointing news recently, his prescence in Abuja for the Aso Villa Demo Day shows how optimistic he is about the country. The SpaceX rocket carrying Facebook’s first ever satellite worth $200 million crashed. The satellite was an initiative by Facebook to provide internet coverage to Africa.
Mark Zuckerberg has said that he visited Nigeria for a business research trip.According to a press release from his company: “Zuckerberg is in Nigeria to listen and learn and take ideas back to California on how Facebook can better support tech development and entrepreneurship across Africa”. He first visited a technology hub in Lagos called CC Hub.
